System Description

The TC‐5030A/B Receiver/DF Processor provides advanced geo‐location capability over the 30 to 1800 MHz range using a next‐gen single channel architecture. The system is designed for vehicle, shipboard and airborne SAR, maritime surveillance and regulatory applications. The TC‐5030A is in a 3U standard rack mount chassis. The TC‐5030B is housed in a 5U by half‐rack package. The TC‐5030A/B is designed to work with the TC‐8220 DF Antenna Array for shipboard, TC‐8120 for vehicle installations and TC‐8111 for airborne fuselage mounting. The unit uses modular construction with a COTS module set applied across several Tech Comm DF systems. Ethernet ports are provided for use with remote display and control panels or for external data comms for local networks. A universal built‐in power supply permits operation from DC and AC power sources.

DF Antenna Arrays

Several DF Arrays are compatible with the TC‐5030A/B Receiver/DF Processor. When the TC‐5030A/B is used with a selected array and associated cabling it forms a complete DF system. DF array selection is primarily determined by the application. Field proven arrays are available for fixed ground, vehicle roof‐top mounting, shipboard super structure mounting, fixed site tower installations and airborne bottom fuselage
mounting. All arrays are designed to withstand expected environmental conditions to provide long, trouble free operation. The arrays have built‐in proprietary 4‐port and 8‐port goniometers that accept control from the system DF processor and furnish DFRF to the receiver channel. The DF assembly (receiver and processor) can be mounted at the DF array or remotely, dependent on platform/site configuration requirements. ‘B’ mounting kits are available for specific customer installation requirements.
